About Us
Luton Urban Radio (LUR) is a grassroots community radio station which was founded in 1995. LUR is now run by and managed by the Pulse of Luton CIC, a community interest company. With the community as its beneficiary, the Pulse of Luton CIC aims:
- To provide a variety of radio shows e.g. Music Content , Community News, Guest Speakers, Talk Shows & Local News.
- To support the wellbeing for elders based in Bedfordshire to preserve culture and heritage directly and indirectly
- To support our young people based in Bedfordshire to learn and develop skills via a range of initiatives directly and indirectly
- To put on a wide variety of community-based events, that caters for all ages and families.
In addition, A further objective of the station is to support central and local government authorities in addition to voluntary organisations to reach an audience that may not follow mainstream TV and/or radio channels with their campaigns to help educate the nation on important public matters.
LUR occupies the unique position of being the main and leading local black-led online community radio station in Luton operating 24*7 365 days, reaching audiences locally and nationally, also globally.

LUR operates under the leadership and governance of 4 Company Directors, 4 support associates and approximately 30-40 radio presenters globally. LUR is licensed and operate under the governance of Ofcom.
